Builders' Show Attendance Drops
It's not often that a show manager says he or she is “pleased” with an 11-percent drop in attendance, but sometimes it's all about perspective. “Our pre-registration had us down by 15 percent,” said Wayne Stetson, senior staff vice president of the Natl. Assn. of Home Builders, which owns The Intl. Builders' Show.

TSW Consumer Show Report: Attendance Heads Downhill
The consumer show market had a rough 2007 by the measure that matters most – attendance. Average attendance dropped 5.8 percent compared with 2006, which had experienced the first rise in attendance in several years. According to Tradeshow Week's Annual Consumer Show Report, other indexes registered modest increases.

Shoe Show Stubs Toe With Date Misstep
Exhibitors and attendees alike said the winter version of the semiannual WSA Show was a slow one. In an industry they described as gossipy and incestuous, however, nobody was surprised. In fact, many had planned ahead.

Scrapbookers Stick With CHA
After MemoryTrends Trade Show drew only nine exhibitors to its collocation with the Photo Marketing Assn. Intl. Convention & Trade Show Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Las Vegas, one could guess that the scrapbooking industry was in trouble. The Craft & Hobby Assn. Winter Convention & Trade Show dispelled that idea.
