LAS VEGAS—New guidelines governing the safety inspection process for temporary structures have caused the managers of at least two major tradeshows here to lose sleep recently.

IDG Gets Red Hat Back in Its Ring
When Red Hat pulled out of the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo/San Francisco a year and a half ago, IDG World Expo, the show's owner, said it would leave the door open for the company's return. After all, Red Hat is the leading provider in the open source solution community, the sector the show serves.

Springtime Goes Green
Yet another industry event is jumping on the green bandwagon. Sustainability is a new feature at this year's Springtime Expo April 3 at the Washington (D.C.) Convention Center.

PCMA Re-launches Prep Course
More available instructional materials have prompted the Professional Convention Management Assn. to rewrite its basic certification course. New material in the Convention Industry Council Manual prompted the reworking of PCMA's Certified Meeting Profession Online Prep Course.
