Intl. CES Picks Macworld's Apple
Next year, the Consumer Electronics Assn.'s Intl. CES will team up with iLounge.com and launch the iLounge Pavilion, a 4,000 net square foot iPod and iPhone area on the showfloor. Apple territory has been dominated by another tradeshow – IDG World Expo's Macworld Conference & Expo, held Jan. 5-9 at San Francisco's Moscone Center, until that dominance recently was shaken.

All Quiet on Builders' Front
It's no mystery that tradeshows are a reflection of the marketplaces they represent and when those industries have problems, so do the shows. This was apparent at the Intl. Builders' Show/NextBuild, held Jan. 20-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

BJI Adds to Inventory
Business Journals Inc. has acquired the New York Haberdashery Group, owner of the Haberdashery tradeshow, which was held Jan. 17-20 at The Warwick Hotel in New York City. According to BJI, the show will be relaunched during men's fashion week in July at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York and be renamed MRket NYC.

NAMM Still Making a Lot of Music
Some shows may be struggling because of the recession, but NAMM, the Intl. Music Products Assn.'s The NAMM Show, held Jan. 15-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center, boasted crowded aisles and filled-up exhibit space.
