Boyd's Earnings Take Fourth-quarter Hit
Las-Vegas based Boyd Gamings' fourth-quarter net income dropped from $30.9 million in 2007 to a net loss of $220.8 million in the same period this year. Boyd officials said the drop was because of impairment charges related to prior acquisitions and a decrease in consumer business. Full-year results also were down, from net income of $303 million last year to a net loss of $223 million in the same period in 2008.
