10+2 Rule Could Stymie Exhibitors
New federal regulations for shipping freight via ocean liner could make it more difficult for international exhibitors to ship their freight to U.S. tradeshows. The regulation, known as the 10+2 Rule, is one of many enhanced security measures implemented by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security.

Several Shows Defy Odds, Post Increases
There is plenty of news to report of shows negatively affected by the economic downturn. However, in the first months of this year, several shows in a variety of sectors – electronics, travel and apparel, for example – have reported at least 10-percent increases in attendance, along with significant boosts in net square footage and number of exhibitors.

Catering to a Tough Economy
In this challenging economic climate, tradeshows not only have to market harder, but also more creatively. The largest event for the catering and events industries is trying to prove that strong marketing to a healthy industry can result in a successful show.

Dallas Gets the Nod on Anchor Hotel
The Dallas City Council moved the long-awaited plans to build an anchor hotel next to the Dallas Convention Center one giant step forward when it approved operating agreements with a developer, Lewisville, Texas-based Matthews Southwest, and hotel operator, Irving, Texas-based Omni Hotels.
