  • Las Vegas Still Rules Tradeshow Roost
    Las Vegas has had a tough time as of late, with more than 400 event cancellations since the beginning of the year. Even so, no major tradeshows have canceled as of yet, and, according to the just released 2009 Tradeshow Week 200, Sin City still rules the roost as the city with the most big shows, 49, snagging 24.5 percent of the national market share. more » » »

  • More Room to Rock ‘n’ Roll
    The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino now has a little more wiggle room for meeting and convention attendees – in the form of 73,000 square feet of new space. The Morgans Hotel Group unveiled the meetings and events portion of its nearly two-year, $750 million expansion project April 17 that includes two new ballrooms, a larger concert venue and two hotel towers. more » » » 
  • Taxi Business Surviving, For Now
    With total year-to-date visitor attendance in Las Vegas down 10 percent, the active taxicab industry has declined too, but not by much. “The industry is basically healthy financially, but revenues are down about 6 percent year-to-date,” said Gordon Walker, administrator of the Nevada Taxicab Authority. more » » »
