Calif. Gift Show Changes Hands
Following through on a plan to shed its consumer-focused show portfolio that was put into motion two years ago, dmg world media sold its Tradeshow Week 200 stalwart, the California Gift Show, to Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. “This final stage of activity puts dmg world media nearer the strategic finish line here in North America,” said Mike Cooke, CEO of dmg world media.

Major German Textile Sponsor Switches Shows
The decision by the German Garment and Leather Technology Assn. of the VDMA (Federation of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers) to end its long-standing sponsorship of Cologne, Germany-based Koelnmesse's triennial IMB – World of Textile Processing could be the death knell for the 35-year-old textile processing and apparel manufacturing tradeshow.

Boston's Bayside May Be Auctioned
A foreclosure notice published late last month in The Boston Globe announced the Bayside Expo Center will be sold at auction May 28. John Mostyn, an attorney for Bayside, said in a statement that officials are in negotiations with Bayside's lender.
