 On May 18, after four years of preparation, the Cleveland City Council gave its final approval for the Cleveland Medical Mart. However, just hours before the council action came word that Dallas-based Market Center Management had its own plans for a medical mart, a 1.5 million square foot facility that would include meeting space for health care events, in Nashville, Tenn.

Dorothy Belshaw: Gifted With Success
The two editions of the semiannual New York Intl. Gift Fair drew nearly 70,000 attendees and 6,000 exhibitors last year, taking every last available square inch of the Javits. Overseeing that success is GLM Senior Vice President Dorothy Belshaw, who’s led the show for almost three years, and, in that time, kept in step with not only changes in the retail industry, but also within the gift show world itself.
