Title: Be-Cause It's Cancer (BCIC)
Purpose: Exhibition Industry-Wide Initiative Launch Date: April 18, 2005 What is Be-Cause It's Cancer?Exhibition industry leaders are backing an awareness campaign and entering into an industry-wide initiative with ACS.
The driving force of Be-Cause It’s Cancer is an Advisory Board comprised of key members of the exhibition industry. Tradeshow Week will serve as the primary promotional and communication vehicle to encourage participation under the direction of Tradeshow Week Publisher and Be-Cause It’s Cancer Co-Founder, Adam Schaffer.
Co-Founder Karen McElroy Hunter has been in the industry for over 15 years and is a major influencer with key leaders in the Industry. Karen was recently diagnosed with breast cancer; this has been the catalyst for Industry leaders to take action in creating a cause for their Industry.
How can I participate?
Show managers can participate by donating a portion of your show(s) registration fees to support ACS® by committing $1 per show attendee through a simple two-page Be-Cause It’s Cancer Agreement directly between your organization and ACS®.
You have the option to either deduct this portion from your current registration fee or increase the registration fee by $1. Important note: Please review FAQs for more information and rules on promotions. Either way, this will help raise funds and awareness for this important cause. Thirty days after the show, show managers will provide ACS® with a post show report and a check for the committed donation.
